lower saxony course - the challenge
18-hole, par 72, 80 hectares
Length: Ladies: 5135 metres, Men: 6.057 metres,
Champion: 6,461 metres
In November 2001, the internationally recognized Canadian golf course designer David John Krause broke ground for another 18-hole course at the Hardenberg Golf Resort. The first nine holes of the championship course of international standard opened in June 2003 – offering a fascinating golfing experience and a challenge for beginners and professionals alike. The highlight of the Lower Saxony Course is the Par 3 island green – designed as the heraldic animal of the Counts of Hardenberg, a boar head. The beauty and challenge of the course are the many natural obstacles, players are challenged by, for example, a dry biotope, a canyon, as it is otherwise seen only in Arizona, orchards, old trees and much else.
Göttingen Course – the classic
18-hole, par 72, 68 hectares
Length: Ladies: 5,276 metres; Men: 6,033 metres
The course, which today covers 68 hectares, was built in two sections, and is very varied and demanding. Above all, it requires stamina, because over its total distance of 6,033 meters, it constantly alternates between uphill and downhill sections. The fairways are wide and characterized by lush trees.
