Overnight stays at the Hardenberg BurgHotel start from €198.00 per night. The exact price depends on the season, availability and selected room category. You can submit a non-binding enquiry for a suitable offer or book online directly.

• Which room categories are available?

The Hardenberg BurgHotel has 42 individually furnished rooms and suites. These include Cosy double rooms, Cosy rooms with a balcony, Comfort rooms with a balcony, Comfort Mill rooms, Deluxe Mill rooms, Deluxe rooms with a balcony, suites and family rooms such as Comfort Family with a balcony, Cosy Family and Cosy & Suite Family.

• Which amenities do the rooms and suites offer?

Depending on the category, the rooms and suites feature amenities including a double bed, complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen television, a KREAFUNK Bluetooth speaker, safe, minibar, complimentary water, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, high-quality CODAGE Paris toiletries, bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer and make-up mirror. 

• Are single rooms available at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

The rooms at the Hardenberg BurgHotel are generally furnished with double beds but can also be booked for single occupancy.

• Are family rooms available at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, several suitable room categories are available for families. Comfort Family rooms with a balcony combine two Comfort rooms with a connecting door and accommodate up to four people. At 60 m², the Cosy & Suite Family category accommodates up to six people – perfect for a family holiday. 

• Are cots or extra beds available?

Yes, a cot is available free of charge. Infants and children from 0 to 6 years stay free of charge in their parents’ bed or a cot. An extra bed costs €60.00, plus breakfast, regardless of age:
•  Children from 7 to 11 years: €60.00 plus €19.00 for breakfast per child/day
•  Young people from 12 to 17 years: €60.00 plus €38.00 for breakfast per child/day
•  Third person aged 18 or older: €60.00 plus €38.00 for breakfast per person/day

• Which cancellation conditions apply?

The cancellation conditions depend on the booked rate, selected offer and booking channel. The applicable conditions are displayed transparently during the booking process on our website.
When booking our Best Available Rate through the hotel website, you may cancel your reservation free of charge until 2.00 pm on the day of arrival. You can also find the cancellation conditions applicable to your booking in your offer and booking confirmation at any time.

• Are allergy-friendly rooms available?

In general, all our rooms are equipped to be allergy-friendly. This includes allergy-friendly bedding, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing stay. At your request, we can also clean your room daily – please speak to our team to arrange this.
If you have an animal-hair allergy, please inform us before your arrival. This allows us to make every effort to allocate a room in which no dog has previously stayed.

• Are the rooms air-conditioned?

Due to the historic age and structure of the building, the rooms do not have conventional air conditioning. Dyson air purifiers and fans are, however, available in several room categories.

• Is the Hardenberg BurgHotel suitable for business travellers?

Yes, the Hardenberg BurgHotel is well suited to business travellers and conference guests. It is located less than ten minutes from the A7 motorway and only around 10 km from Göttingen. The hotel offers complimentary parking, electric vehicle charging stations, complimentary WiFi, quiet rooms, Restaurant Novalis, the BurgSpa and several conference and event rooms.

• Which payment methods are accepted?

Accepted payment methods include cash, credit cards such as Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club and JCB, as well as EC cards, Maestro and vouchers.

The Relais & Châteaux Hardenberg BurgHotel is located at Hinterhaus 11A, 37176 Nörten-Hardenberg, below the historic Hardenberg castle ruins and surrounded by the natural landscape of the Hardenberg estate.

• How far is the hotel from Göttingen?

The Hardenberg BurgHotel is located around 10 km north of Göttingen. It combines a peaceful countryside location with convenient access to the city and the A7 motorway.

• How can the hotel be reached by car?

The Hardenberg BurgHotel is easily accessible by car via the A7 motorway. The journey from the motorway to the hotel takes less than ten minutes.

• Is parking available at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, ample complimentary parking is available directly in front of the Hardenberg BurgHotel.

• Are garages available at the hotel?

Yes, garage spaces can be reserved subject to availability. A garage space costs €12.00 per garage per night.

• Are charging stations available for electric vehicles?

Yes, there are eight electric vehicle charging stations in the Hardenberg BurgHotel car park. Payment can be made by credit card or fleet card. We recommend making an enquiry in advance if you are arriving in an electric vehicle.

• Is a shuttle service available from the railway station?

Yes, the hotel can arrange a shuttle service upon request, either from Göttingen ICE railway station, approximately 10 km away, or from Nörten-Hardenberg railway station, approximately 1.5 km away.

• Is there a bicycle garage or a place to charge e-bikes?

Yes, a bicycle garage is available. E-bike batteries can be charged separately, but not while attached to the bicycle.

• Can e-bikes be rented at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, you can rent trekking e-bikes at the Hardenberg BurgHotel and explore the Hardenberg estate on two wheels. Upon arrival, you will receive instructions, a key, helmet and everything else you need for your tour. The hotel also takes care of secure storage, cleaning and charging the battery.

• Which airport is close to the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

The nearest commercial airport is Kassel Airport in Calden, approximately 75 to 90 km away. The larger international Hannover Airport is around 125 to 140 km from the Hardenberg BurgHotel, depending on the route.

 

Breakfast, restaurant & dining

• When is breakfast served at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

The Hardenberg breakfast buffet is served daily from 7.00 am to 11.00 am in the Pferde-Burg room on the ground floor. Breakfast costs €38.00 per person per day.

• What does the breakfast buffet offer?

Our varied breakfast buffet offers something for every taste, whether you prefer savoury dishes, sweet dishes or both. Look forward to regional products such as dairy products and cheese from Naturkost Elkershausen in Göttingen, seasonal fruit and vegetables from Werderhof, freshly prepared egg dishes using eggs from a regional farmer and selected game specialities from the Count’s estate. The breakfast is complemented by crunchy cereals and a selection of natural and fruit quark.

• Is there a restaurant at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, the Hardenberg BurgHotel is home to Restaurant Novalis. Guests can enjoy modern, regionally inspired cuisine with a fine-dining character but without formal etiquette, including regional game specialities, vegetarian menus and seasonal highlights. The restaurant is open Monday to Sunday from 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm and from 6.00 pm to 9.30 pm. 

• Are vegetarian or vegan dishes available?

Yes, Restaurant Novalis offers vegetarian menus and seasonal dishes. If you have any questions about ingredients or allergens, please speak to our team at the restaurant.

• Can external guests dine at Restaurant Novalis?

Yes, Restaurant Novalis can also be visited without an overnight stay. We recommend making a table reservation.

 

 

Your stay, reception & services

• What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is available from 3.00 pm. Check-out is until 12.00 noon.

• Is early check-in or late check-out available?

Yes, early check-in and late check-out are available upon request and, depending on availability, may be subject to an additional charge.

• Is check-in possible outside reception opening hours?

Yes, late check-in is possible by prior arrangement. If the reception is not staffed, the room key will be placed in a key safe in front of the main entrance. The access information will be provided in advance by email or telephone.

• When is the reception staffed?

The reception is staffed daily from 6.30 am to 10.45 pm. Outside these hours, the team at our sister hotel, FREIgeist Göttingen Innenstadt, can be reached by telephone.

Yes, dogs are welcome at the Hardenberg BurgHotel and may accompany you throughout the hotel, in the restaurant and on the terrace. A food or water bowl and a dog blanket or Fatboy dog cushion are provided in the room. The additional charge is €25.00 per animal per night. To help us prepare the best possible stay for you and your four-legged companion, please let us know before your arrival.

• Are conference rooms available at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, the Hardenberg BurgHotel offers five individual and light-filled conference and event rooms in a peaceful location at the foot of the Hardenberg castle ruins.

• Which conference rooms are available?

The available rooms include the 42 m² Danziger Lachsstube for up to 20 people, the 36 m² Jagdzimmer for up to 16 people, the 92 m² Pferde-Burgzimmer for up to 60 people, the 100 m² Hoppegarten for up to 80 people and the 200 m² Hardenberg Mühle with a conservatory for events with up to 140 people.

The Hardenberg BurgHotel is suitable for conferences, meetings, business events, exclusive dinners, birthdays, private celebrations, Christmas parties, weddings and larger events. Its countryside location combines tranquillity, a historic atmosphere and convenient access from Göttingen.

• Can weddings be celebrated at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, the Hardenberg BurgHotel offers a special setting for weddings in Lower Saxony, featuring historic castle ruins, the castle park, banquet rooms and personal wedding planning. Both larger wedding celebrations and intimate ceremonies in a private atmosphere are possible, including a ceremony for two in the historic vaulted cellar of the castle ruins. Our events team will provide personal support with your planning.

 

 

Fitness & wellness

• Is there a fitness room?

Yes, the Hardenberg BurgHotel has a fitness room with modern cardio and strength-training equipment.

• Is there a spa or wellness area?

Yes, guests at the Hardenberg BurgHotel can use the Hardenberg BurgSpa. The wellness facilities include a sauna area with an infrared sauna, steam bath and Finnish sauna, a relaxation area with a fireplace, two whirlpool tubs overlooking the Hardenberg castle ruins and treatment rooms for massages and cosmetic treatments.

• Is use of the BurgSpa included?

Yes, hotel guests can use the BurgSpa free of charge during their stay. Treatments and massages should be requested in advance and can be booked subject to availability.

• Which massages and treatments are available?

Various treatments can be booked at the BurgSpa, including aromatic oil massages, scrubs, Indonesian massages and the “Hardenberg meets Orient” treatment. Treatments are available upon request and subject to availability.

• Are massages or wellness treatments available at the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Yes, you can book massages and selected wellness treatments at the Hardenberg BurgHotel. Depending on availability, these include aromatic oil massages, fascia massages and hot stone massages. Please contact us in advance if you would like to enjoy a massage during your stay. View the available treatments.

• Are children allowed to use the wellness area?

Yes, younger guests are also very welcome in our wellness area. To ensure that all visitors feel comfortable, we ask guests to be considerate of one another and recommend enquiring in advance about suitable usage times for children. Our team will be happy to assist you and advise you on the current regulations.

• Is there a swimming pool?

There is no conventional swimming pool. However, the BurgSpa has two whirlpool tubs overlooking the Hardenberg castle ruins.

• Is the hotel wheelchair accessible?

Due to its historic structure, the Hardenberg BurgHotel has limited wheelchair accessibility. Although the rooms are conveniently accessible by lift, some public areas are relatively narrow due to the building’s design, and unfortunately there is no separate wheelchair-accessible toilet.
We will be happy to advise you personally before your arrival and discuss whether we can meet your individual requirements as effectively as possible.

• Which attractions are close to the Hardenberg BurgHotel?

Nearby attractions include the Hardenberg castle ruins, the castle park, the Hardenberg GolfResort, the Hardenberg Distillery, the adjacent forest and the Leine Valley. Göttingen is approximately 10 km away, and the western Harz Mountains are also within easy reach.

• What can guests do around the hotel?

Activities around the Hardenberg BurgHotel include walks through the castle park and to the castle ruins, hiking, cycling tours, golf at the Hardenberg GolfResort, visits to the Hardenberg Distillery, excursions to the castle ruins, holidays with your horse and day trips to the Harz Mountains.

• Are there golf courses nearby?

Yes, the Hardenberg GolfResort, featuring two 18-hole championship courses, is only a few minutes from the Hardenberg BurgHotel. We also offer suitable golf packages, including green fees and Golf & Indulgence offers.

• Can I take my dog onto the golf course?

Yes, your four-legged companion is also welcome when you play golf. Dogs are permitted on all golf courses at the Hardenberg GolfResort, so nothing stands in the way of a shared golf holiday at the Hardenberg estate.

• Is the surrounding area suitable for hiking and cycling?

Yes, the surrounding area is ideal for hiking, walking and cycling. Directly from the hotel, guests can explore the castle ruins, castle park, adjacent forest and Leine Valley. The Harz Mountains are also within easy reach for day trips.

• Can I bring my horse?

Yes, a stable space for your horse can be booked at the Hardenberg stables. The first night costs €50.00, and each additional night costs €30.00. Please let us know in advance when booking.

 

 

Sustainability

• Is the Hardenberg BurgHotel sustainable?

Yes, sustainability is an important part of our daily work. We continuously review our processes and take action wherever we can make a difference, from energy-efficient measures and the responsible use of materials and products to cooperation with regional partners and our social commitment. We intend to continue along this path and invest more strongly in our own projects within the hotel group, such as photovoltaic systems, to further reduce our environmental impact over the long term.

• Is the Hardenberg BurgHotel climate-neutral?

In cooperation with ClimatePartner, emissions from hotel operations, the restaurant, electricity consumption and employee travel have been recorded in recent years. Until now, unavoidable emissions have been offset through internationally recognised climate protection projects. In future, more funds are to be invested in the hotel group’s own sustainability projects, such as photovoltaic systems.  

• Does the hotel have a sustainability certification?

Yes, since July 2022, all hotels in the group have been awarded the certified sustainability seal.

• Does the hotel use regional products?

Yes, Restaurant Novalis uses regional and seasonal products wherever possible, including game from the Hardenberg estate’s own forests, dairy products from Naturkost Elkershausen and vegetables from the regional organic farmer Penk.

• Is the hotel certified organic?

Yes, our breakfast is certified organic. You will find numerous organic products on our breakfast buffet, including fresh eggs and meat products of certified organic quality.
